340B INDUSTRY LEADER SPOTLIGHT

Christina Breckenridge, Senior Director of Client Success, RxStrategies

Christina Breckenridge

Q: Where did you grow up?

Kansas City, Missouri

Q: Where did you go to college/graduate school?

For undergraduate work, I went to school in Springfield, Missouri, at what was then Southwest Missouri State University and is now Missouri State University. I earned 2 graduate degrees in Kansas City, Missouri, at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Q: What are your favorites?

Food: I love Mexican food and often joke that if you need a favor, I’ll do it… for tacos. I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to resist a lobster tail (the pastry, not the seafood), though.

Movie: If I want to cry – Bridges of Madison County, and to laugh – Bridesmaids

Musicians: Jack Johnson & Billie Eilish

Destination: London

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

Though I enjoy traveling and baking, most of my free time is spent doing what I love most: watching my three young children on courts, in pools, or on fields doing what they love most!

Q: What kind of work does your company do in 340B and what makes it stand out?

RxStrategies offers tailored solutions that ensure compliance, optimize 340B savings, and enhance program performance for covered entities nationwide. What I have found while working at RxStrategies is its commitment to innovation, focus on client services, and collaborative culture. As the team leader of Client Success Managers, I help drive this culture by collaborating with our clients to create innovative solutions that solve problems and optimize savings and program potential.

Q: Why did you choose to work in the 340B space?

Prior to starting my family, I was a teacher for nine years before transitioning to the 340B space, where I initially focused on CE program audits and consulting. Since joining RxStrategies, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible outcomes that can be achieved when there is a strong partnership between TPA and CE. The opportunity to impact patients and improve individual health outcomes through the 340B program is a powerful motivator for me and my team.

Q: What do you feel is your most significant contribution to the 340B world or to a 340B customer/client?

My most significant contribution to the 340B world is leading a highly skilled team that collaborates closely with clients to develop innovative, results-driven solutions. By fostering strong partnerships between TPA and CE, we consistently optimize savings, enhance program performance, and unlock the full potential of the 340B program, ultimately improving patient outcomes and making a lasting impact on healthcare systems.

Q: What advice do you have for a young professional who has recently launched a career in the 340B space?

If I had to isolate my advice to one thing, I would probably tell a young professional new to 340B to be patient. The history, purpose, financial impacts, and regulations of this program can be overwhelming initially. Staying up to date on eligibility criteria and program optimization can feel complex, but there are many knowledgeable people in this industry who are willing to provide guidance. There is a lot to master, but with dedication and a willingness to learn, you will likely find that the complexities of the 340B program become more manageable over time. Seek guidance from resources, webinars, and colleagues who have experience in the field. By remaining curious, adaptable, and persistent, you’ll not only succeed in your role but also contribute meaningfully to the healthcare organizations and communities that benefit from the 340B program.
