340B INDUSTRY LEADER SPOTLIGHT

Jaclyn Hahn, Director of Pharmacy, Ravin Consultants

Jaclyn Hahn

Q: Where did you grow up?

I grew up at the Jersey shore. After college, I moved to Santa Barbara, CA where I lived for 13 years before recently relocating with my family to Sarasota, FL. My Jersey girl accent is long gone these days, but I still love to visit in the summer and spend time with my extended family.

Q: Where did you go to college/graduate school?

I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Boston is still one of my favorite places on Earth. It is the perfect mix of history, city life, and nostalgia for me.

Q: What are your favorites?

Food: French Fries

Movie: I am more of tv series type person. I rewatched the Sopranos during COVID lockdown and really enjoyed it.

Musicians: The Revivalists. My husband and I have seen them in four different states, including seeing them in Las Vegas on one of our first dates!

Destination: I will get on a plane and go anywhere. I have been to five continents, and I hope to make it all seven in the next couple of years.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

Lately, we have been spending a lot of time getting to know our new home in Sarasota FL. The beaches are just beautiful here and we like to visit Turtle Beach. We had my daughter’s 2nd birthday party there!

Q: What kind of work does your company do in 340B and what makes it stand out?

Ravin Consultants provides a unique blend of talented individuals with various backgrounds and expertise to help any 340B program grow and thrive. We don’t just conduct mock audits, we become a trusted strategic partner, building customized dashboards to understand our clients current situation and inform recommendations for improvement. I feel that there is nothing (well, almost nothing!) that we wouldn’t do to help our clients achieve great things with their 340B programs. From eligibility, implementation and compliance, to optimization, and back again, we help with it all!

Q: Why did you choose to work in the 340B space?

I was working as a pharmacist for a DSH facility in Santa Barbara that had recently become 340B eligible. I volunteered to learn more about 340B and help build the new program for the hospital system. From there, I just kept learning about 340B through online programs, websites and conferences and it has become my passion. With 340B, you can immediately see how the savings can be used to help patients pay for medications through assistance programs or through the creation of outreach programs in the community to help improve public health. It is an amazing feeling to be a part of such an important program that changes lives for the better.

Q: What do you feel is your most significant contribution to the 340B world or to a 340B customer/client?

It is hard to feel like you are “making a difference” in a lot of the traditional roles for pharmacists. However, with 340B and working with a lot of grantee entities like Ravin Consultants does, you can see the results of how 340B helps patients in need get the care they deserve. The savings from 340B programs can be used to help grow these entity programs in many ways. One of the biggest opportunities we are seeing is the creation of in-house pharmacies The pharmacy is able to provide a level of care to its patients that is unmatched in the community and it is all because of the 340B program savings that is making this possible.

Q: What advice do you have for a young professional who has recently launched a career in the 340B space?

340B is a small world. Get to know people, make friends, get connections. Then use those connections to help grow and protect the 340B program and the future of healthcare.
