Q: Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small rural town called Meade, Kansas. For the last 20 years, I have called the Kansas City area home.
Q: Where did you go to college?
I received my RN degree from Maric College of Nursing in San Diego CA.
Q: What are your favorites?
Food: Pizza-any kind!
Movie: I am not much into movies but I love a good documentary.
Musicians: Instead of musicians, here are a few of my recent favorite books: Emperor of All Maladies, When Breathe Becomes Air, and Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty, which all just happen to be medical related.
Destination: I love the West Coast, beaches and wine country.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time with my husband and three daughters ages 21,18 and 15. I am a bibliophile, averaging a book per week and play a little tennis.
Q: What kind of work does your company do in 340B and what makes it stand out?
AuthorityRx combines technology and expertise collaboratively to deliver unique knowledge, insight and services that enhance 340B performance. Services such as Advanced Claims Capture (ACC) and Manufacturer Mandate Management (M3).
Q: Why did you choose to work in the 340B space?
Prior to joining AuthorityRx, I spent 20+ rewarding years providing direct patient care as the clinical supervisor of a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and the Supervisor of a Outpatient Infusion/Oncology unit. Since I have seen firsthand how critical the services provided by these departments are for patients and communities, I have a passion to help entities so they can continue to offer these important services to their communities.
Q: What do you feel is your most significant contribution to the 340B world or to a 340B customer/client?
I feel my most significant contribution to our clients is the restoration and protection of their savings by helping with the burdensome manufacturer mandates and helping to compliantly capture more claims so that they can continue to offer critical services; allowing clients to get back to the important work of taking care of patients.
Q: What advice do you have for a young professional who has recently launched a career in the 340B space?
You may feel as if you do not know which questions to ask and it is unlikely that one person or one company has all of the answers regarding your questions. My advice is to engage with peers and trusted partners in the space in order to expand your knowledge of the program and gain operational confidence.
