Biden Nominates Veteran Capitol Hill Aide to be HHS Assistant Secretary

President Biden has nominated Melanie Egorin, a veteran Democratic congressional health care adviser, to serve as U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Assistant Secretary for Legislation. If confirmed, Egorin would be a top deputy to Xavier Becerra, whose nomination to be HHS Secretary could be voted on by the full Senate this week.
