I love spending time with family and doing outdoor activities – running, biking, golfing, and reading a good book by the beach!
Q: What kind of work does your organization do in 340B and what makes it stand out?
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) provides cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to over 2 million people around the world. We are currently the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the world. AHF Pharmacy and AHF Healthcare Centers act as safety-net providers in the 340B space, providing medicine and healthcare services to anyone in need.
Q: Why did you choose to work in the 340B space?
Coming from a “for-profit /corporate” background, I chose the non-profit path to focus on working with the safety-net community. The 340B space has allowed AHF to stretch scarce federal resources to help the underserved.
Q: What do you feel is your most significant contribution to the 340B world or to a 340B customer/client?
With the help of 340B, AHF provides a full circle of care model to our clients and the community. We strive for quality care and provide compassionate service regardless of ability to pay. Our full circle of services focuses on well-known barriers to care, like housing and/or food insecurity, and aims to address the fundamental needs of our clients.
Q: What advice do you have for a young professional who has recently launched a career in the 340B space?
340B is a necessary program that has saved many lives and should continue. My advice to a young professional entering the 340B space is to get involved with advocacy groups and learn how to be a part of the fight to Let 340B!
