WHO WE ARE
340B Report is a subscription news service (email newsletter and website) that covers the U.S. Health and Human Services Department’s 340B Drug Pricing Program and related prescription drug pricing policy issues. We launched in 2020, broke many stories and now dominate the market for news and analysis on this policy battlefield.
WHAT WE NEED
We are growing and need a savvy and hardworking correspondent to join our team. We need someone who: has a solid understanding of health care policy, enjoys the drug pricing debate, meets deadlines, is flexible, is a team player and, above all, can write well and simplify complex topics. Those interested in freelance work are also welcome to apply.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience in health care journalism
- Metropolitan Washington, D.C., resident preferred, but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems
- Understanding of drug pricing policy and how high drug prices affect health care providers and their patients
- Ability to write clearly and concisely about complex topics, including federal and state legislation, regulations and court cases
- Experience in meeting deadlines
- Ability to pitch and write multiple daily and enterprise stories a week with minimal editing
- Experience with podcasts and/or broadcast interviews, comfortable with public speaking and presenting in-person or at virtual events
Preferred but not required: Experience with Photoshop, Mailchimp, social media and creating charts and infographics. Familiarity with policymaking processes at state and/or federal levels.
