Q: What kind of work does your organization do in 340B and what makes it stand out?
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a 340B safety-net provider. Through AHF Pharmacy and with the support of the 340B program, we ensure that our clients have access to the medications they need to stay as healthy as possible, regardless of their ability to pay. We are an advocacy-driven organization at our core that fights to ensure the voiceless are heard and seen. We advocate for the 340B program across the country. Over the years, AHF has become a model for effectively advocating nationally and internationally for vital issues affecting our clients, including drug pricing policies, homelessness, and social justice issues.
Q: Why did you choose to work in the 340B space?
I chose to work in the 340B space to support underserved populations. I am passionate about advocating for this vital program because of the impact it has on our clients and communities as a whole. The 340B program does a world of good and costs taxpayers nothing. It is foundational to increasing access to medical care for the poorest of the poor and enables organizations like ours to do that with dignity.
Q: What do you feel is your most significant contribution to the 340B world or to a 340B customer/client?
Our mobilization and advocacy teams. We simply rock! We are diverse in every way and are uber-committed to doing good in the world through the help of the 340B program.
Q: What advice do you have for a young professional who has recently launched a career in the 340B space?
Do the work that you love, help people survive and thrive and commit with your whole heart. What you will receive in return will be exponentially greater.
