The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration has slightly adjusted the dates of the first of four periods in 2023 during which eligible entities may register themselves, their child sites, and their contract pharmacies to participate in the 340B program.
Normally, a quarterly 340B registration period runs from the first through the 15th day of the January, April, July, and October. Registration is effective the first day of the following quarter. If the 15th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the final day of registration is the next business day.
Jan. 15 will fall on a Sunday and Jan. 16 will be the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday. Accordingly, the first quarter 2023 registration period will be Jan. 1 to Jan. 17, a HRSA spokesperson said yesterday. Due to ongoing public health emergencies, eligible entities in South Carolina, Florida, and Puerto Rico may immediately enroll in 340B rather than having to wait for the next quarterly registration period.
